Thousands of Fiji Hindus might not have converted to other religions if Guru Dhirendra Krishna Shastri had visited Fiji earlier, says Parveen Bala, president of Vishwa Sanatan Sanstha of Fiji.
Addressing about 8000 people at Prince Charles Park on Wednesday night, Mr. Bala expressed gratitude to Guru Shastri for enlightening the Indian community in Fiji.
“After hearing your teachings and guidance, I am now confident that those who were unsettled will find stability,” he said.
“If you had visited earlier, perhaps those thousands who left their religion due to incomplete knowledge and belief in others might have stayed true to their faith.”
“What you have imparted over the past few days has offered us a deeper understanding of our faith,” said Mr. Bala.
“Guruji, you have shown our community the path to unity and the importance of standing together when one of us is attacked. This commitment will not be forgotten.”
