Students are now encouraged to redeem their e-Transport cards for Term 1, 2025, as announced by the Ministry of Education. The ministry has confirmed that the e-Transport cards have been successfully topped up and are available for use. Students can redeem their cards at various locations, including Vodafone outlets, buses, and district offices.
In preparation for the upcoming school term, students are advised to redeem their cards prior to the start of classes. For students encountering difficulties with their cards, the Ministry has provided contact information for the Transport Assistance Unit. They can be reached at 3220429 or 3220570, or by emailing ta.helpdesk@govnet.gov.fj.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support students in their education, following earlier adjustments to bus fares that took effect on September 1, 2024. Under these adjustments, the Ministry has ensured that a significant number of students—103,321—are benefiting from the Transport Assistance Program. Among these, 62,988 students utilize the subsidized blue e-Transport cards.
It’s a pivotal time for students as they prepare to return to school, and the availability of topped-up e-Transport cards is a positive measure to facilitate their commute. The Ministry’s commitment to supporting students’ transport needs reflects a continued effort to ease any challenges faced by families.
