Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has announced that foul play is suspected in the death of a Police Constable, whose body was discovered in Lami on Sunday morning. During a press conference, the Commissioner expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased officer, highlighting the pain felt by both the police force and the officer’s loved ones during this challenging time.

“It has been a difficult time for us all. To lose one of our men who was diligently carrying out his duty, who swore an oath and committed his life to serving members of the public, is heartbreaking,” said Commissioner Tudravu. He emphasized the tragic nature of losing a young officer whose promising career was abruptly ended.

Following a post-mortem examination, it was confirmed that there were indications of foul play in the constable’s death. The investigation is being led by the Divisional Crime Officer Southern, with a dedicated team currently working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident. Key areas of focus include determining the motive and constructing a timeline of events leading up to when the officer was last seen.

As the investigation progresses, the police force remains committed to seeking justice for the fallen officer and providing support to his grieving family.
