The Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) has announced a significant leadership change at the board level, with Executive Chairman Akuila Masi resigning from his position effective immediately. In light of this development, Deputy Chairman DC Rajesh Singh will step in as Acting Chairman, as guided by the organization’s governance policies.

The FNRL plans to elect a new chairman at its next scheduled board meeting, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership. Masi emphasized the need for stability and collaboration during this period, urging stakeholders to back Singh as the FNRL advances its reform initiatives and strives to enhance operational effectiveness.

Assuring stakeholders, the FNRL stated that this leadership shift will not disrupt any ongoing activities, including business operations, programs, competitions, or any current engagements. Masi expressed his gratitude towards staff, partners, and stakeholders for their support during his time as chairman and conveyed optimism about the organization’s future trajectory.

Moreover, all day-to-day operational matters will continue under the management of FNRL staff and Singh, adhering to the established governance framework. The proactive approach taken by the FNRL reflects its commitment to progress while maintaining continuity for its various initiatives.
