The ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA), celebrated as the Oscars of Fiji’s tourism sector, successfully showcased the vibrant achievements of the industry in 2025. The glamorous event unfolded at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Wailoaloa, Nadi, where the leading figures of Fiji’s tourism sector gathered to honor outstanding contributions and performances.

Under the theme “Echoes of Fiji,” FETA Board Chairperson Debra Sadranu emphasized the importance of the evening, stating it was a moment to recognize the pivotal role the tourism industry plays in Fiji’s economic growth. This year marked a historic milestone, as a total of 25 awards were presented, the largest number in the award’s history.

Among the prestigious recognitions handed out were the Visionary Award, awarded to Mark and Janice Hinton, and the Lifetime Achievement Award, which went to Narend Kumar. Kolora Mason earned the Dixon Seeto Tourism Leader award, while Sawani Hoyt from Tropica Island Resort received the Employee Excellence in Service award. Other notable winners included Akshay Avin Chand, recognized as the Rising Star, and Eroni Bole from Rosie Holidays, awarded for Cultural Tourism Champion.

The awards not only honored individual excellence but also recognized various sectors within the industry. Noteworthy awards included:

– Community CSR Winner: Nanuka Island Resort.
– Environmental Sustainability Winner: Kaibu Fiji Private Island.
– Excellence in Food Tourism: Nanuku Resort Fiji.
– Inbound and Transport Operators: Rosie Holidays.

The event was well-attended, with representatives from hotels, resorts, and tourism groups including Tanoa Hotel Group and the Motibhai Group celebrating their respective victories. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the ecosystem of tourism professionals came together, reflecting on their collective efforts to keep Fiji’s tourism thriving.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka contributed to the celebratory spirit, officiating the awards and highlighting the enduring impact of tourism on Fiji’s society and economy. As the tourism industry continues to evolve, such celebrations not only honor past achievements but also inspire future contributions, reinforcing Fiji’s position as a premier tourist destination.
