Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica emphasizes that a comprehensive response is vital, involving parents, teachers, churches, community leaders, and law enforcement to guide youth toward education and positive opportunities.
Kamikamica acknowledges that social challenges, including the AIDS epidemic and the rise in drug-related issues, threaten the well-being of the nation. He assures the public that these concerns can be addressed through strengthened awareness programs, support services, and rehabilitation initiatives aimed at helping those affected rebuild their lives. The deputy prime minister states, “Trust me, these issues will be resolved, and that way we can gift a better country to our children who come after us.”
A collaborative effort is in progress with various stakeholders to enhance community outreach, education campaigns, and enforcement strategies to mitigate the spread of illicit substances and promote healthier lifestyles among youth. Morrison, along with the Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, Pio Tikoduadua, has highlighted the alarming trend of children being involved in drug trafficking, pointing out that the issue extends beyond urban areas and into rural environments.
