Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lautoka Seventh Day Adventist High School today, signaling a pivotal advancement in Fiji’s education system. This new high school is slated to welcome students in 2026, significantly enhancing educational access for local children.

During his remarks at the ceremony, Rabuka emphasized the importance of celebrating progress and expressed his gratitude to the SDA Church for its vital role in supporting the education sector in Fiji. He noted that religious institutions are responsible for building and managing 95% of the schools nationwide, highlighting their essential contribution to education.

The Prime Minister also reinforced the government’s dedication to fostering partnerships with religious organizations and other stakeholders to further develop the education system in Fiji. He called upon all involved parties to collaborate effectively in making this project a success, stating, “Let us collectively come together to make this project a reality.”

In addition to the new high school, the SDA Church currently operates three high schools and 12 primary schools across Fiji, underlining its ongoing commitment to education in the country.

This project represents not only a commitment to improve educational facilities but also a community-driven effort to enhance the future of Fiji’s youth. With substantial backing from both the government and the SDA Church, the Lautoka Seventh Day Adventist High School is poised to make a lasting impact on local education.
