The Telecommunications Authority of Fiji (TAF) proudly introduced its inaugural Five-Year Strategic Plan (2025-2029) at Tanoa Plaza in Suva, marking a significant milestone for the organization. The launch event was officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communications, Manoa Kamikamica, who underscored the strategic plan’s foundation built on four key pillars: Regulatory Effectiveness, Service Delivery, Advocacy, and Financial Sustainability.
This plan is also supported by strategic enablers focusing on People and Governance, Processes, and Technology, with the ambitious aim of closing the digital divide while boosting innovation. Furthermore, it seeks to solidify Fiji’s status as a leading ICT hub within the Pacific region.
During the launch, Kamikamica expressed that the strategic plan demonstrates TAF’s commitment to advancing the telecommunications sector in Fiji. He shared his vision of a digitally connected Fiji where technology and opportunities are accessible to all citizens. He noted, “The plan’s emphasis on regulatory excellence, enhanced service delivery, advocacy for community needs, and financial sustainability is a testament to TAF’s alignment with the government’s vision of a digitally inclusive and empowered Fiji,” and expressed confidence in TAF’s collaboration with key stakeholders for successful implementation.
TAF Chairman David Eyre stated that the organization is embarking on an ambitious journey toward a digitally inclusive future. He shared optimism about executing the plan and its transformative potential for both Fiji and the wider Pacific region, highlighting the importance of stakeholder support in translating these ambitions into tangible effects for the populace.
Moreover, TAF’s CEO, Prit Chand, remarked that the strategic plan provides a clear and actionable roadmap for transforming Fiji’s telecommunications landscape.
