Ailava Samuel has claimed victory at the Miss Pacific Island Pageant 2026, showcasing her talent and grace on her home turf. The 19-year-old outshined six other contestants from across the Pacific, also securing the Best in Interview accolade during the competition.
In her heartfelt victory speech, Samuel expressed gratitude to her family and team for their unwavering support throughout her journey. She dedicated her win to her entire country, highlighting her pride in representing Fiji. This remarkable achievement makes her the fourth Fijian woman to earn the prestigious title, following Anne Dunn, who won in 2016.
The pageant saw strong performances from other contestants as well, with Miss Papua New Guinea earning the title of 1st runner up and receiving additional honors for Best Traditional Wear and Miss Internet. Miss Samoa placed as the 2nd runner up, while Tonga was awarded 3rd runner up along with titles for Best Sarong and Miss Tourism. Additionally, the Cook Islands representative secured the 4th runner up position, along with accolades for Best Talent and Miss Photogenic. Kiribati’s representative was honored with the Miss Personality award.
Samuel’s victory not only signifies a personal triumph but also uplifts her community, inspiring hope and pride among her fellow Fijians.
