Fijian Rugby Stars Shine at 2025 Awards Night

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua lock Isoa Nasilasila and Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s lock Alfreda Fisher have been recognized as the Men’s and Women’s Players of the Year at the 2025 Drua Annual Presentation and Awards Night. After the ceremony, both players expressed their gratitude, noting that they did not expect to win, feeling there were others more deserving of the honors. They thanked their coaches, staff, and supporters for their belief in their contributions to the team.

Fisher notably dedicated her award to her father, who celebrated his birthday on the same day. The awards didn’t stop there; Ponipate Loganimasi was a standout at the event, winning three honors: Rookie of the Year, Men’s Moment of the Year, and Fan Player of the Year. Co-captain Frank Lomani received the ANZ Personal Development Award, while Tuidraki Samusamuvodre was honored as the Tanoa Hotels Community Champion Men.

Further accolades included Josivini Naihamu being awarded the 2025 Encore Women’s Rookie of the Year and Salaseini Railumu taking home the 2025 Fan Player of the Year. Vitalina Naikore was recognized with the 2025 Punjas Women’s Players’ Player of the Year, and Elia Canakaivata earned the Fiji Sun Men’s Players’ Player of the Year.

The event not only celebrated individual achievements but also highlighted the dedication and growth of Fijian rugby.
