Weather Update
Good morning, weather enthusiasts! If you thought February 14th was just about chocolates and roses, think again! The skies over Fiji have a different plan today and it involves a little bit of cloud cover and a sprinkle of showers.
A pesky trough of low pressure is hanging out to the west of Fiji, sending us some clouds and rain to keep things interesting until later today. Meanwhile, the wind has taken a vacation and we’re left with a moderate north to northwest breeze.
Here’s your weather forecast for today until midnight:
Northern parts of Viti Levu—think Ba, Tavua, Ra, and Rakiraki—along with Northern Bua, Macuata, Lau, and the Lomaiviti groups can expect brief showers. The rest of the islands will enjoy mostly fine weather, though don’t be surprised if the afternoon or evening brings a surprise visit from thunderstorms—those clouds can be quite the dramatic influencers!
Tomorrow, we should see a bit more sunshine, with just a few formidable heavy showers making an appearance in the afternoon or evening. Be sure to keep that umbrella handy, or you may have to do an impromptu dance in the rain!
Now, let’s break it down by your favorite spots:
For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Expect fine weather, but don’t let your guard down; the afternoon likes to play tricks with some showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will sizzle between 25°C and 33°C.
Natadradave/Korovou: Same story—mostly fine weather, with a chance of those sneaky afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Get ready for the same temperatures as before.
Sigatoka/Coral Coast: It’s looking good here as well, with temperatures cozying up between 25°C and 33°C.
For the Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba area: Think brief showers over Ba, but otherwise, fine and dandy weather is on the table. You might wanna keep a finger crossed for rain-free skies—temperature range is 25°C to 32°C.
Tavua/Rakiraki will experience the same bubbly weather scenario. And the Yasawa/Mamanuca group? Same delightful forecast, but don’t forget that afternoon surprise of rain!
Labasa also gets a brief shower but don’t freak out; it’s just a quick sprinkle before returning to sunshine!
Savusavu is all about the sun, with just a touch of afternoon showers in the mix.
Over in Nabouwalu, expect brief showers followed by a possible storm show—how exciting!
Taveuni: That pesky afternoon storm risk is here too, but fine weather should treat you well—don’t forget those tropical temperatures!
Lau and Lomaiviti group has a slight drizzle lined up today followed by their very own thunderstorms. And for our island friends in Kadavu, expect sunshine until the clouds decide to spice it up with a few scattered showers.
Lastly, Rotuma is gearing up for the day with some cloudiness and a possible thunderstorm spoilage—not too bad for a Saturday!
