Weather Update
Straight from the Crystal Ball of the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 7:30pm on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. You might want to check your umbrella before stepping out!
Tonight’s forecast for the Fiji group is a cinematographic mix of cloudy periods and some flirtatious brief showers in areas like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra. Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, Taveuni, and the nearby islands are also in the rain-dancing mood, with Lau and Lomaiviti groups joining the party. Lucky for you, most of the other regions will be basking in mainly fine weather.
Prepare for cool nights that might have you reaching for that cozy blanket—including an oversized one, if you’re feeling particularly dramatic. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds will keep you on your toes, while the seas will be moderate to rough, perfect for a thrilling boat adventure if you’re feeling brave.
Looking ahead to Thursday, we see more of the same cloudy shenanigans in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and so forth. But don’t worry! Most places will keep it fine and dandy, just how we like it.
For those residing in Navua/Suva/Nausori, expect similar cloudy antics with a sprinkle of brief showers, but cool nights to keep your dreams nice and cozy. Level up your patience!
If you’re hanging out in Nadi/Lautoka/Ba, you’ll be graced with mainly fine and smooth conditions—it’s as easy as a Sunday morning.
Coral Coast/Sigatoka will see some cloudiness and brief showers mixing in, while Tavua/Rakiraki will experience a bit more cloud love over Rakiraki—with the rest happily enjoying fine weather.
Natadradave/Korovou will be embracing the cloudy spells, and Yasawa/Mamanuca group will flaunt their mainly fine status, perfect for a little beach time.
Labasa residents can also kick back, as they’ll enjoy some solicited sunshine, while Savusavu will be cuddling up with clouds and brief showers.
When we look at Lau and Lomaiviti, or Kadavu, expect them to ride the wave of cloudy periods with brief showers and cool nights—just in case you thought they’d be missing out!
As for Rotuma, brace yourselves! A STRONG WIND WARNING is still a thing. A low-pressure trough is making its presence known, bringing shows and some windy theatrics. High seas of 20 to 25 knots are on the menu, along with occasional showers and perhaps a surprise thunderstorm or two to keep life exciting.
For Thursday, the plot continues with isolated thunderstorms and showers. So keep your raincoats and excitement levels high, Fiji—weather is never boring around here!
