Scenic view of Fiji's coastline with lush greenery and stormy skies.

Issued at 3:30pm Wednesday 29 April 2026 — A southeasterly flow will keep much of Fiji relatively settled through to midnight tomorrow, with partly cloudy skies and brief showers affecting several coastal and island districts while most other areas stay largely fine. Isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms remain possible over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Moderate to fresh southeast winds and moderate to rough seas are expected across the group.

Brief showers are most likely over Serua‑Namosi, Navua‑Suva‑Nausori, Tailevu‑Naitasiri‑Ra, Cakaudrove, southern Bua, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Elsewhere conditions will be mainly fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers. Mariners and coastal communities should note the moderate to rough sea state and freshening southeast winds, which may make nearshore conditions choppy.

Locally for tomorrow: Navua, Suva and Nausori will be partly cloudy with brief showers, lows around 22°C and a high near 31°C, with Friday tending to cloudier periods and brief showers (21–31°C). Natadradave and Korovou follow a similar trend (22–31°C, then 21–31°C on Friday). The Yasawa and Mamanuca group will remain mainly fine (22–31°C tomorrow; 23–31°C on Friday). Sigatoka and the Coral Coast can expect generally fine weather apart from afternoon or evening showers and possible thunderstorms, with temperatures about 22–31°C and similar conditions on Friday. Nadi, Lautoka and Ba, as well as Tavua and Rakiraki, should see mainly fine conditions aside from afternoon or evening showers and possible thunderstorms, with temperatures around 22–33°C tomorrow and slightly cooler maximums on Friday. Labasa is expected to be fine apart from evening showers and possible thunderstorms (22–33°C). Savusavu, Nabouwalu and Taveuni will be partly cloudy with brief showers (about 22–31°C tomorrow, turning to cloudier periods with brief showers on Friday, 21–31°C). The Lau and Lomaiviti groups and Kadavu are forecast partly cloudy with brief showers (22–31°C tomorrow, 21–31°C on Friday).

Rotuma: A southeasterly wind flow prevails today, but a trough of low pressure is likely to affect the island from tomorrow. Mainly fine weather today will give way to showers and isolated thunderstorms developing from tomorrow. Winds are expected to be moderate to fresh southeasterlies with moderate to rough seas. Temperatures are forecast near 24–32°C, with Friday seeing cloudier periods and some showers.
