Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced Fiji’s intention to host the 2031 Pacific Games. During the 2023 Fiji Sports Awards held at HFC Bank Stadium, he confirmed that Fiji has officially submitted a bid through the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC).
Mr. Rabuka stated that FASANOC will present Fiji’s bid at an upcoming event in Palau next month. He emphasized that the People’s Coalition Government is dedicated to fostering sports development at all levels.
“We will continue to invest in our athletes, enhance our sports infrastructure, and promote inclusivity in sports,” he remarked. He also highlighted the importance of ensuring that all Fijians, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or ability, have the opportunity to engage in sports and chase their aspirations.
