US Ambassador to Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, and Tuvalu, Marie Damour, emphasized that Fiji’s selection for a full MCC compact represents a substantial achievement for the nation. Currently, an MCC team is in Fiji, initiating the preliminary stages of compact design. Ambassador Damour noted that this first mission is crucial, as it allows experts to identify and understand Fiji’s most pressing development challenges.
During their visit, the MCC team has engaged with various ministries, the private sector, and development partners to gather insights into the constraints affecting economic growth in Fiji.
