A father is urgently calling for justice following the brutal attack on his 15-year-old son, Isea Manukiwai, who was reportedly lured from a temple and severely burned in Lautoka on Monday night. Rajesh Kumar, a fisherman from Wairabetia, alleged that two youths coaxed his adopted son outside while he was having dinner at the temple.

Mr. Kumar recounted the frantic moment when he received a call informing him of his son’s injuries. He claimed that Isea was coaxed to the Wairabetia bus stop, where the devastating incident occurred. “I don’t know what they poured on him but it burned his clothes and body. He was crying out in pain and asking for help. I thought my son was going to die that night,” he said, expressing his anguish.

Following the attack, Isea was taken to Lautoka Hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit with second-degree burns. Mr. Kumar, who adopted Isea when he was just six months old, is deeply concerned for his family’s safety, especially after claiming one of the alleged attackers was seen near his home the following morning.

The distressed father lodged a police report immediately after the incident, urging law enforcement to take action. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that an investigation is underway, and authorities are looking into the matter.

This incident has sparked outrage in the community, highlighting the need for increased safety and vigilance among families. While the emotional toll of such violence can be devastating, it serves as a call to action for local communities to come together in support of victims and advocate for justice.
