The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua delivered a commanding performance against the Skipper Select side, overwhelming them with a score of 78–12 in their second pre-season match. While the scoreline may seem lopsided, it belied the potential displayed by the younger team, marking an important developmental step for them.
The match kicked off with Joseva Tamani scoring for the Drua in the ninth minute, successfully converted by Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula. Skipper Select responded with early initiative, managing to score a try through Sevuloni Lutu in the 16th minute. Both teams exchanged touchdowns from Epeli Momo and Seremaia Komailevuka, showcasing an engaging contest early on.
However, as the game progressed, the Drua’s experience became evident. They surged ahead with a penalty try, followed by tries from Vereimi Vakatawa and co-captain Temo Mayanavanua, ending the first half with a considerable 35–12 lead.
