The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua is gearing up to showcase their signature style of fast-paced and aggressive rugby this Saturday as they face off against Moana Pasifika in the opening round of the 2026 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season. Head coach Glen Jackson aims to instill this distinct “Drua DNA” into his team as they prepare for what has become known as the Battle of the Pacific.

Jackson expressed his excitement about the match, emphasizing the importance of starting strong against a fit and prepared Moana Pasifika team. “We understand the Drua DNA is about playing hard and playing fast, and that’s what we want to start with,” he stated in a press conference. He highlighted that a good start is essential and noted that the players needed to carry that momentum throughout the match.

The coach also praised his back row, featuring talented players such as lock Mesake Vocevoce, Kitione Salawa Junior, and Elia Canakaivata. Vocevoce will be making his debut in a starting role, and Jackson expressed his eagerness to see how he performs in the match.
