ASCO Motors Fiji has made a significant contribution this week by donating a Toyota vehicle valued at $45,000 to the Serevi Academy of Rugby. The donation was celebrated during a ceremony at their showroom in Nabua and is part of Asco Motors’ ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives aimed at fostering sports development and empowering youth across Fiji.

Ronald Kumar, CEO of Asco Motors, highlighted the crucial role of community engagement in this endeavor. He stated, “One of the biggest challenges facing our country right now is the drug epidemic. This vehicle will be used for community outreach and will help educate our youth, guiding them in the right direction.” Kumar reinforced the company’s dedication to supporting initiatives that address significant social issues, including drug addiction.

Founded by rugby legend Waisale Serevi, the Serevi Academy plans to make the most of this vehicle for its outreach programs. Serevi expressed his gratitude to Asco Motors, declaring the donation as “the best thing ever.” He emphasized that having this vehicle will reduce the need for rented transportation, enabling him and his team to reach more communities to teach rugby while imparting important life skills.

This partnership highlights a shared vision to address youth challenges through sports. The academy is not only focused on developing athletic talent but also on instilling core values such as discipline and good citizenship among young individuals. This aligns perfectly with the academy’s motto, “Stay Strong, Say No to Drugs,” which underscores the importance of making positive life choices.

Overall, the collaboration between Asco Motors and the Serevi Academy is a promising step towards empowering the youth of Fiji, equipping them with essential skills and positive values for their future. As these organizations continue their partnership, they serve as vital sources of positive change and community support in the battle against youth drug issues in the region.
