Mosese Tuimatai, the recipient of the Baton of Honour from Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, emphasized the importance of living with discipline for long-term benefits. The 18-year-old, hailing from Maumi Village in Bau, Tailevu, expressed his surprise at being awarded this honor. He made history as the first member of his family to reach Year 13.
Reflecting on his upbringing, Mosese shared a valuable lesson from his father about the need for children to heed their parents’ advice. He noted that the cadet training program played a crucial role in teaching self-discipline, which he believes is essential for students’ development. He extended his gratitude to the teachers for allowing the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces to conduct training, which he said has equipped students with valuable discipline.
Aspiring to become a marine engineer, Mosese thanked God for his achievements and expressed deep appreciation for the support of his family. He admitted to being taken aback by receiving the Baton of Honour, stating that it brought him both happiness and gratitude.
