The Lami Darts Association’s recent Doubles Tournament has left a lasting impression within the community, indicating a growing interest in the sport across Fiji. This event, held at The Fiji Club in Suva, attracted 32 teams and 64 players, highlighting not only the competitive spirit but also the camaraderie among participants.
The tournament culminated in a thrilling final where brothers Romit and Robyn Mahabir from the 3D’s Darts Club emerged as champions, narrowly defeating their teammates Shaheil Hussain and Hakva Haq. Vinesh Prasad, President of the Lami Darts Association, outlined the significance of the event, stating that it was more than just a competition; it symbolized the strength of collaboration and community engagement.
Special recognition was given to standout players, with Ronith Narayan achieving the highest check-out score of 155 and Raj Chandra recording the highest score of 160. The tournament’s success was bolstered by the support of major sponsorships, particularly from Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI), which contributed $1,100 as the title sponsor.
