Kaline Masibalavu, a 24-year-old man, has entered a not guilty plea to murder charges concerning the fatal stabbing of 25-year-old Sanaila Bavesi during a dispute in Suva on November 2 of the previous year. Masibalavu appeared before High Court Justice Thushara Rajasinghe, facing serious allegations connected to the incident.
Following the stabbing, Bavesi was urgently transported to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital but unfortunately did not survive his injuries. During the court proceedings, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions was represented by Unal Lal. Justice Rajasinghe has scheduled a pretrial conference for May 7, with Masibalavu’s bail extended, allowing him to stay out of custody while the case progresses.
