The Bluewater Boxing promotion is set to take place in February of next year, featuring a headline match between experienced fighters Joseph Kwadjo and Robin Hazel-man. This announcement was made by promoter Samir Khan to SUNsports.

Khan stated that they plan to host four events throughout the year. The February fight is scheduled at the Vodafone Arena in Suva and will kick off with a launch event at Holiday Inn, Suva, at 1 pm on Friday.

In addition to Kwadjo and Hazel-man, several other boxers, including Alifereti Kauyaca, Paulo Ratumaikoro, and Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana, will be participating. Notably, Mohammed Ali and Jese Ravudi are also set to step into the ring.

Khan emphasized the promotion’s commitment to adhering to the rules and regulations that have governed previous events, highlighting that they have successfully provided necessary medical services, including ambulances and drug testing. He also pointed out that boxing remains an inherently risky sport without insurance coverage for athletes. To ensure fighter safety, Khan announced that all boxers will be required to submit medical certificates.

The Bluewater Boxing promotion aims to create opportunities for boxers affiliated with registered clubs. Khan made it clear that only officially registered coaches or managers can work with the boxers, necessitating proper documentation to verify their status.

This event not only promises exciting matchups for boxing fans but also reflects the promotion’s commitment to athlete safety and regulatory compliance. It’s encouraging to see efforts focused on supporting local talent in the sport and ensuring a well-organized and safe environment for competition.

In summary, the long-anticipated Bluewater Boxing event will highlight veteran talent while also establishing a structured framework to support and protect the fighters involved. This initiative can lead to a more recognizeable and respected boxing community in the region.
