Residents of Lakeba Street in Samabula will experience a temporary water supply disruption beginning tomorrow. This planned water cut is due to the installation of a Pressure Reducing Valve, as announced by the Water Authority of Fiji.
The disruption will be from 5 PM tomorrow until 7 AM on Wednesday, affecting not just Lakeba Street, but also nearby areas including Helsen Street, Aiwa Road, Nayau Street, Fulaga Street, Kabara Street, and Sovu Place. Residents in these locations are advised to prepare accordingly by storing sufficient water ahead of this interruption to meet their needs during the downtime.
This is part of ongoing efforts by the Water Authority to improve the water supply infrastructure across the region. Previous maintenance works have included valve replacements and repairs to leaking hydrants, which have similarly impacted local water supplies. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about further maintenance schedules, as these upgrades are crucial for ensuring reliable water service in the future. The Water Authority consistently emphasizes the importance of preparedness during such disruptions to minimize inconvenience.
While temporary, this upgrade indicates a proactive approach in maintaining and enhancing the water supply system, ultimately improving service reliability for all residents.
