Residents of Lakeba Street in Samabula will face a temporary water supply interruption starting tomorrow at 5 PM, set to last until 7 AM on Wednesday. This planned outage is necessary due to the installation of a Pressure Reducing Valve, as confirmed by the Water Authority of Fiji.
The water cut will not only affect Lakeba Street but also nearby areas, including Helsen Street, Aiwa Road, Nayau Street, Fulaga Street, Kabara Street, and Sovu Place. Residents are advised to store adequate water beforehand to ensure their needs are met throughout the disruption.
This initiative is part of the Water Authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance the water supply infrastructure in the region. Previous maintenance activities have encompassed the replacement of valves and repairs to leaking hydrants, which have similarly led to temporary water supply issues in the past. It is important for residents to stay informed about upcoming maintenance schedules, as these enhancements are vital for ensuring a reliable water supply moving forward.
The installation of the Pressure Reducing Valve underscores a proactive approach by the Water Authority to maintain and improve the water supply system. This commitment to infrastructure upgrades ultimately aims to boost service reliability for all residents, promoting a well-prepared and efficient water distribution network.
