A 36-year-old woman accused of causing the death of an elderly woman in an accident on Queens Road on August 18, 2024, has been granted bail. She faced a charge of Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death and appeared in Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday.
The incident reportedly occurred when she lost control of her vehicle near the Viseisei Bypass road, leading it to veer off the road and collide with a post. The impact caused her vehicle to swing back onto the roadway, resulting in a collision with another car.
Tragically, a 75-year-old woman who was a passenger in the accused’s vehicle succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. The court has scheduled the next hearing for October 15, 2024.
