A tragic incident has occurred in Burelevu Village, Saivou, Ra, where a three-year-old boy is believed to have drowned in the Wainibuka River. The unfortunate event took place yesterday afternoon when the child is thought to have left his home without anyone noticing, heading to the river for a swim.

As concerns grew within the family when they realized the boy was missing, villagers quickly mobilized to initiate a search for him. After a thorough search, the child was discovered unresponsive along the riverbank.

Relatives swiftly transported the boy to Wainimaro Hospital, where local authorities were subsequently alerted regarding the situation.

Police are actively investigating the incident to gather more information. This heartbreaking occurrence serves as a reminder for families to remain vigilant about the safety of their young children, especially around bodies of water.
