The Denarau Golf & Racquet Club is gearing up to host the Kriz Signage & Five Squares Pro-Am Tournament this Saturday, an eagerly awaited event that will see both professional and amateur golfers compete in an 18-hole tournament. The event receives generous support from various sponsors, including Dinesh Chand, Hexagon Group of Hotels, G-Tech, and the Fiji PGA.

Professionals will have the chance to vie for a substantial cash prize of $5,000, while amateur players will participate in a stroke play format. Amitesh Chandra, president of Golf Fiji, expressed excitement about the tournament, emphasizing its significance in promoting local golf talent. “This event is a fantastic platform for our local and regional golfers. It provides valuable exposure for our amateurs while allowing professionals to showcase their skills,” Chandra stated.

Registration will begin at 8:30 AM, with the tournament starting at 9:30 AM in a shotgun format. An impressive field of around 80 players is anticipated, promising a day filled with competitive golf. The participation fee will also include a buffet lunch, enhancing the overall experience for competitors and attendees alike.

This upcoming tournament follows the success of similar events, including the recent Pro-Am Championship, which witnessed outstanding participation with 106 golfers from Fiji and beyond. As the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club prepares for this engaging tournament, the event is set to be more than just a day of competitive play. It represents an opportunity to strengthen community ties and elevate the profile of golf in Fiji. The excitement surrounding this tournament reflects the vibrancy of the golfing community in the region and is a promising indication of future sporting events, showcasing golf’s positive trajectory as a cherished pastime.
