The Suva Netball Association (SNA) has solidified its partnership with NewWorld IGA by extending their sponsorship through to 2025, marking over a decade of collaboration. This enduring alliance has proven beneficial for SNA, empowering the organization to enhance its game management and promote netball throughout Fiji.
Recently, SNA convened to outline their strategic plans and budget for 2025, underlining the vital role that NewWorld’s financial support plays in their operations. The sponsorship is allocated towards various essential aspects, including logistics, equipment, facilities, training programs, and player development.
SNA secretary Lepani Justice Volahiga noted the impressive achievements of their teams, particularly highlighting that while there was no National Championship for women in 2024, Suva clinched the championship in the men’s Finance Hub League. Moreover, Suva’s dominance in mixed netball has been evident, showcasing their deep talent pool. The success of the national team, exclusively made up of Suva players, has further cemented SNA’s status as a leading force in netball.
Looking forward, SNA is preparing for an exciting Club Season, kicking off with the Knockout on May 24 and the first round of Club Games slated for June 7. Volahiga shared that a total of 86 teams from 11 clubs are engaged this year, reflecting a growing interest in the sport and an increase in participation compared to last year.
As the association gears up for the upcoming season, there is a shared gratitude towards NewWorld for their consistent support over the years. This substantial backing not only affects the players but also strengthens the overall netball community in Suva. The future looks promising as acknowledgments of teamwork and preparation get recognized, ensuring competitive spirit and continuous growth in netball in the region.
The partnership signifies hope for future accomplishments, bringing together players and the community in celebration of their shared passion for the sport.
