The University has announced that following a four-day strike, all staff members returned to their duties as of yesterday.

A joint statement from the Association of the University of the South Pacific Staff (AUSPS) and the University of the South Pacific Staff Union (USPSU) indicated that all employees on strike were directed by their unions to resume work starting Thursday, October 24, 2024.

However, the unions emphasized that they would continue to oversee the situation regarding their demand for a fair and transparent investigation into Vice Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia.

The unions also mentioned that they could call for further strike action again on short notice if necessary. Their strike mandate remains effective until February 14, 2025.
