Weather Update

Hello, weather enthusiasts! Here’s the scoop fresh from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi—your daily dose of atmospheric antics mixed with a sprinkle of humor to keep your spirits high!

So, buckle up because the northern half of Viti Levu (from Nadi through Rakiraki to Korovou) and the eastern half of Vanua Levu (Labasa to Udu Point and beyond) is currently under a severe thunderstorm warning. Yes, if you were planning a peaceful picnic, you might want to reschedule that for a sunnier day!

What’s brewing? A mischievous trough of low pressure has decided to hang out over the southern parts of Fiji, bringing along a cloud entourage and a shower party. Meanwhile, another trough, like an overexcited puppy, is bounding in from the northeast and is expected to keep the showers and rain office notified from tomorrow till Friday night.

Here’s the forecast running wild until midnight tomorrow: expect cloud cover with some rebellious showers, and don’t be surprised if you hear a few rumbles of thunder come out to play—especially around Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nasinu, the Yasawa and the Mamanuca group, not to mention Northern Bua, Macuata, Lomaiviti, and Lau! Elsewhere, things might be mainly fine, but expect some cheeky afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.

And here’s a little heads-up: With some hefty showers expected, watch out for possible flash flooding in low-lying areas. It’s like nature’s way of saying “Surprise!”

Expect moderate winds blowing in from the south to southwest and seas that are moderate but possibly spicy!

Now, peeking into Thursday’s crystal ball: Occasional rain will be around, giving parts of the Northern and Eastern groups more of an exciting splash—heavy at times, and a few thunderstorms might even join the show later in the day. Get your umbrellas ready, because localized heavy falls could lead to a surprise mudslide or two!

Let’s take a quick whiz around the islands:

**Navua / Suva / Nausori:** Cloudy with some showery shenanigans and the potential for an isolated thunderstorm. Today’s high: a sizzling 33. Tomorrow? Think cozy at a minimum of 24 and another 33 max!

**Sigatoka/Coral Coast:** Mostly fine, but the afternoon might turn into a shower and thunderstorm bash. Today’s temp: 34. Tomorrow’s forecast? 23 for the minimum and 34 to keep it spicy.

**Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:** Keeping it fine for now, with a sprinkle of afternoon fun! Today’s high: 33. Tomorrow: 23 minimum, still peaking at 33.

**For the Yasawa/Mamanuca group:** Clouds are ready to party – expect some showers and possible thunderstorms. 34 today and 34 again tomorrow!

**Labasa:** Cloudy antics are on the way with the chance of heavy falls. 33 for the max today, and the same for tomorrow!

**Rotuma:** Heavy rain alert still on! A line of clouds is planning to rain on your parade with occasional heavy showers. 30 for the top today and a balmy 25 for the minimum tomorrow.

Remember, when it rains, it pours—hopefully not on your plans! Stay dry, and until next time, keep smiling through the storms!
