Rewa increased their lead in the Digicel Fiji Premier League with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Lautoka during Round 16 at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

The match began as a physical contest, with both sides displaying notable resilience on the field. However, Lautoka’s situation worsened just before halftime when Antonio Tuivuna received a second yellow card, leaving his team with only ten players.

Taking advantage of the numerical advantage, Tevita Waranivalu struck two penalty goals in the first half, ensuring a vital win for Rewa.

This win reinforces Rewa’s top position in the league standings with 37 points. Labasa follows in second place with 32 points, while Lautoka sits in third with 28 points, as the season heads into the final two rounds.
