Bola Tafou, Athletics Fiji’s long-distance coach, is calling on athletes to dedicate themselves to rigorous training in preparation for the upcoming Pacific Mini Games set for next year. Tafou, who has previously coached elite runners such as Banuve Tabakaucoro, stressed the urgency of starting training now, as the timeline is tight.

He noted that the journey to develop athletes to peak performance can take over a year, making immediate action essential for those looking to improve upon their previous results from the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands. To support this goal, Tafou has been actively involved with young athletes through the Athletics Camp, running until January, which provides a platform to enhance their skills.

Coaches are readily available to offer their expertise and guidance to any athlete eager to enhance their performance ahead of the Pacific Mini Games, which will occur in Koror, Palau from June 29 to July 9, 2025.

This proactive approach highlights the commitment to nurturing athletic talent in Fiji and sets a promising tone for the upcoming competitions. With dedicated preparation and the right resources, athletes can look forward to showcasing their skills on a larger stage.
