Defending champions Queen Victoria School (QVS) clinched a spot in the semifinals of the Vodafone Deans U18 competition, triumphing over Marist Brothers High School with a score of 13-6 in the final quarterfinal held at the HFC Bank Stadium.
QVS began the match with strong momentum, scoring their first try in the 20th minute, quickly followed by another two minutes later. This rapid scoring surge established a 13-3 lead by halftime, putting Marist on the defensive.
Although QVS was unable to score in the second half, Marist managed to shrink the gap with a penalty kick, bringing the score to 13-6. Despite this, QVS’s defense remained steadfast, demonstrating resilience and determination to maintain their lead.
In the final minutes, Marist pressed hard for points, but QVS successfully resisted every attempt, securing their victory and a place in the next round.
