A significant section of Queen’s Road has been closed due to a major road fissure near Semo Village, effectively halting traffic in both directions. The incident occurred just beyond Semo Village, just before the road’s humps, where eyewitnesses reported that the entire segment of the roadway has collapsed, preventing any vehicles from crossing.

Road fissures, which are deep cracks or splits in the road surface, can often be attributed to prolonged heavy rainfall, flooding, or ground movement that undermines the soil beneath the pavement. When the supporting ground erodes or becomes saturated, it can lead to a complete collapse of the roadway.

Authorities are advising motorists to steer clear of the affected area and to postpone travel if possible, as no through access is presently available along this stretch of Queen’s Road. The situation underscores the importance of infrastructure maintenance and monitoring, particularly during periods of inclement weather. First responders and local officials will work on assessing damage and implementing repairs as soon as it is safe to do so, ensuring the roadway will be restored for public use in the near future.
