Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced plans to meet with several members of the deregistered FijiFirst party this weekend.

In a recent interview, Rabuka highlighted the possibility of these members joining The People’s Alliance party. “I’m meeting some of them this weekend,” he stated. However, he did not mention any specific individuals.

“It’s just a group request from Mo Bulitavu,” Rabuka added, noting that the group would be accompanied by his nephew and Opposition member Mosese Bulitavu. “I do not know whether it’s led by him, but he is my nephew. So, we have been communicating.”

This development comes after the deregistration of the FijiFirst party, which has sparked speculation about the political future of its members. The discussions this weekend could be a pivotal moment, potentially aligning the former FijiFirst members with the policies and vision of The People’s Alliance.
