Pita Wise’s Japan Mission Post Withdrawn Amid Controversy

The Public Service Commission has announced the retraction of Pita Wise’s appointment as ‘Head of Mission’ in Japan. This decision follows significant criticism from the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre and the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement regarding his initial nomination.

Wise had stepped down from his role as Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office last month. He had held the PS position since January of the previous year and served as Permanent Secretary under the prior administration.
