The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation is set to host the Third Fiji Tourism Convention in Nadi next month, a significant event aimed at bolstering the country’s tourism sector. The theme for this year, “Tourism Beyond Boundaries,” highlights Fiji’s commitment to pioneering new avenues in inclusive, resilient, and sustainable tourism.
Building on the accomplishments of previous conventions, this year’s gathering aims to deepen its focus on cross-sector collaboration, community partnerships, and resilience, illustrating how tourism can serve not just as a vital economic engine but as a unifying platform that bridges geographical, social, and economic divides.
Industry leaders, policymakers, and tourism professionals from across Fiji are expected to convene to explore the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities within the tourism landscape. Dr. Paresh Pant, Chief Executive of Tourism Fiji, emphasized that the convention serves as a crucial forum for aligning collective ambitions for the sector.
According to Pant, ongoing government investments in infrastructure and community development are crucial for enhancing Fiji’s appeal as a tourist destination. He noted that the Convention will allow stakeholders to better understand emerging needs, gather direct feedback from the industry and communities, and refine their strategies for promoting Fiji in a competitive global market.
The two-day event will include keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to facilitate the exchange of insights and strategies geared towards utilizing tourism as a catalyst for positive change and sustainable economic growth. Conversations at the convention will also revisit the resolutions made at the previous gathering, ensuring continuity and progressive development in the goals set for Fiji’s tourism sector.
