Mystery Vessel Sparks Curiosity in Lautoka Port

A mysterious ship at Lautoka wharf has captured public interest as it awaits dry docking. The maritime vessel Yavirau has several local connections, including prominent businessman Wella Pillay, who is rumored to have acquired the ship for a Fijian chief living overseas. Although the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji is not aware of the vessel’s ownership or future plans, sources indicate that the Yavirau belongs to Tui Lakeba, Ratu Tevita Mara. The ship, which flies a Mongolian flag, is currently undergoing maintenance following its arrival in Lautoka a few days ago.
