Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Viliame Gavoka, has confirmed that there have been no new cases identified at the Warwick Resort in Sigatoka, following an incident where seven guests experienced severe neurological symptoms after consuming a specific cocktail.

Gavoka stated that the Health Ministry has launched an initial investigation, concluding that this is an isolated event linked solely to a specific bar within the resort. He emphasized that no additional incidents have been reported, neither at the Warwick Resort nor across Fiji.

Reassuring potential guests, Gavoka highlighted that the Warwick Resort has been a well-established and reputable destination in Fiji for many years.

This incident, albeit concerning, is being managed effectively, and the swift response from health authorities demonstrates the commitment to maintaining the safety and well-being of visitors. The resort’s long-standing reputation bodes well for its recovery and reassurance to future guests.

In summary, while the situation initially raised alarms, the quick investigation and confirmation of no further health risks allow for optimism. Guests can feel confident in the measures in place to ensure their safety moving forward.
