Two men have been formally charged in connection with the tragic death of Police Constable 8012 Peniasi Racagi. Following discussions with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), a 42-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both residents of Qauia in Lami, have been charged with murder.

The charges stem from an incident alleged to have occurred between February 21 and 22, 2026, during which it is claimed that the two men, along with a third individual, aided and abetted each other in inflicting injuries that resulted in the death of Constable Racagi.

Currently, the two men remain in police custody and are set to appear before the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow. The legal proceedings will bring attention to the circumstances surrounding the case and seek justice for the late officer and his family.
