A man accused of murdering a woman in Raiwaqa, Suva last month made his initial appearance in the High Court in Suva yesterday. Anare Vuli Cilicewa, 31, faces one count of murder regarding the death of Sabreen Shahib Ali on September 9 in Raiwaqa.
During the proceedings, Cilicewa informed the court that he currently lacks legal representation but has submitted an application for assistance from the Legal Aid Commission.
State Prosecutor Zenith Zunaid indicated that an additional seven days are needed to file complete disclosures, as further investigations by the police are still ongoing. The case has been adjourned to October 16 to review Cilicewa’s legal representation and the full disclosures. Meanwhile, Cilicewa’s production order has been extended.
Before the adjournment, Zunaid noted that he would be present in another court for a different case, but he would instruct another prosecutor to represent him in this matter.
