Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024: Meet the Human Rights Advocate with a Musical Twist!

Rowena Acraman, a former journalist passionate about human rights and climate change, is one of ten contestants competing for the title of Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024. The 22-year-old, who is a multilingual musical artist, is sponsored by Apco Coatings, a company with roots dating back to 1977 and operations extending to Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and Tonga.

Ms. Acraman is fluent in English, Hindi, and Japanese, showcasing her love for learning and cultural exchange. In addition to her studies, she is an enthusiastic artist, singer, and musician, skilled in playing both the guitar and ukulele, highlighting her appreciation for creativity and self-expression.

Her future aspirations include working with a non-governmental organization focused on human rights and tackling climate change, reflecting her commitment to making a positive difference in the world. Apco Coatings, which operates from Lautoka, also exports to other South Pacific islands, including Samoa.

The 68th Hibiscus Festival will take place at Suva Civic Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre from August 31 to September 7. With FMF and Vodafone as gold sponsors, the festival promises a week rich in culture, entertainment, and the celebration of beauty and talent, according to event organizers.
