Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School has built a commanding lead in the girls division at the 2026 Coca-Cola Games Championship and appears on track to defend its title, according to the latest medal tally. With only 11 girls events remaining, MGM sit atop the table with 12 gold, seven silver and two bronze medals, leaving rivals a steep mountain to climb.

Adi Cakobau School hold second in the girls standings but are a distant second with four gold, two silver and five bronze medals. The gap in top-podium finishes means MGM need only avoid a collapse in the remaining events to maintain their advantage, while Adi Cakobau and other challengers will need multiple event sweeps to close the deficit in the closing stages of the meet.

The boys division presents a far tighter contest. Queen Victoria School lead the boys medal table with nine gold, seven silver and four bronze medals, but they face sustained pressure from a pair of traditional powerhouses. Marist Brothers High School are in second with seven gold, four silver and five bronze, while Ratu Kadavulevu School sit third on seven gold, two silver and three bronze. Although Marist and RKS are level on golds, Marist’s superior count of silver and bronze medals currently gives them the edge in the overall standings.

Suva Grammar School round out the current top four in the boys competition with four golds and two bronze medals. The close spread of medals among the top boys schools means the remaining events could significantly reshuffle the placings, particularly if relay results or sprint finals produce unexpected winners — outcomes that often decide the overall boys championship.

This update comes as the championship moves into its final phases, with administrators and coaches closely monitoring both individual finals and relays that commonly deliver swings in the medal table. MGM’s substantial lead in the girls division is the standout development of this latest count, while the boys race remains very much alive with multiple schools still in contention.

Organisers have released these figures as day-by-day results continue to accumulate. The next medal table update and final-day performances will determine whether MGM can convert its current advantage into a successful title defence and which boys side will emerge on top after what has become a tightly contested showdown.
