Meet the Multi-Talented Miss Hibiscus Contestant Making Waves for Change!

Rowena Acraman, a former journalist aiming for a future in human rights and climate change, is one of ten contestants competing in the upcoming Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024. At 22 years old, Ms. Acraman is a multilingual student and musical artist, proudly sponsored by Apco Coatings, a company founded in 1977 with operations extending to Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and Tonga.

Fluent in English, Hindi, and Japanese, her language skills showcase her passion for learning and cultural exchange. Additionally, she is an enthusiastic artist, singer, and musician, skilled at playing both the guitar and ukulele. Her hobbies reflect a strong appreciation for creativity and self-expression, underscored by her self-taught Japanese proficiency.

Ms. Acraman has aspirations to work with a non-governmental organization focused on human rights and tackling climate change, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact in the world.

Apco Coatings, based in Lautoka, also exports to other South Pacific nations, including Samoa. The 68th Hibiscus Festival is set to take place at Suva Civic Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre, running from Saturday, August 31 to September 7. The festival, supported by gold sponsors FMF and Vodafone, promises a week filled with cultural festivities, entertainment, and a celebration of beauty and talent, according to event organizers.
