A weak trough of low pressure over the southwest of Viti Levu, combined with a moist easterly wind flow, will bring cloudy periods, showers and afternoon thunderstorms across much of the group. Heavy falls are expected in places on Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, and localised intense rain could cause flash flooding of low-lying and flood-prone areas. Winds will remain moderate from the east and seas generally moderate for most waters.

Cloudy periods with some showers are most likely over the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu (from Serua–Namosi through Navua, Greater Suva–Nausori to Tailevu North), interior Ra, the Yasawa group, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby isles, eastern Macuata and Cakaudrove provinces, southern Bua, and Taveuni and nearby smaller islands. Elsewhere the weather will be generally fine apart from the chance of afternoon or evening showers. Afternoon thunderstorms with heavy falls are expected over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu and may produce short-lived intense downpours.

Urban and population centres should prepare for unsettled afternoons and evenings. Navua, Suva and Nausori can expect cloudy periods with some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon with heavy falls; tomorrow’s temperatures are forecast around a minimum of 24°C and a maximum near 31°C, rising slightly in the outlook for Tuesday. Nadi, Lautoka and Ba, along with Sigatoka and the Coral Coast, are likely to see mainly fine conditions aside from afternoon or evening showers but should also expect thunderstorms with heavy falls during the day; temperatures across these areas will generally sit in the mid-20s to low-30s.

Northern and outer island communities should also watch for showers and afternoon storms. Labasa, Savusavu, Nabouwalu and Taveuni are forecast to have cloudy periods with some showers and the risk of afternoon thunderstorms with heavy falls; minima are around 24°C with daytime highs near 31–32°C. The Lau and Lomaiviti groups, and Kadavu, will see cloudy periods with showers and a chance of thunderstorms into the outlook period, with similar temperatures.

Rotuma will be affected by a trough to its west, producing cloudy periods with showers and possible thunderstorms. Winds there will be moderate to fresh easterlies with seas moderate to rough. Across the group generally, expect moderate easterly winds and moderate seas; anyone in low-lying or flood-prone locations should be alert to rapid rises in water levels during heavy downpours and take precautions as needed.
