The Burebasaga confederacy has expressed its unwavering support for the vanua o Lau, highlighted by the symbolic presence of Turaga na Tui Nayau, Tui Lau, and Sau ni Vanua o Lau, Ratu Tevita Mara. This commitment was declared by Marama na Tui Dreketi Ro Teimumu Kepa during a traditional ceremony that marked the opening of the Lau Provincial Council meeting in Tubou Village, Lakeba.
Ro Teimumu’s visit brought back memories of her prior trips to Lakeba, where she admired the preservation of Lauan customs that remain vibrant and intact.
