The trial for seven individuals charged with the importation and possession of 4.15 tonnes of methamphetamine continued in Lautoka’s High Court as testimony unfolded from key witnesses. The accused—Justin Ho, David Heritage, Louie Logaivau, Ratu Aporosa Davelevu, Jale Aukerea, Ratu Osea Levula, and Viliame Colowaliku—are facing serious allegations related to these narcotics from activities that occurred between November 2023 and January 2024.
As the court proceedings progressed, Apenai Turaganikeli, the brother-in-law of defendant David Heritage, testified about his involvement in moving the drugs. His testimony included details on the group’s trips to retrieve supplies from a yacht, allegedly carrying illegal substances. Defense attorney Litiana Volau meticulously questioned Turaganikeli about logistics, such as boat timings and coordination, attempting to cast doubt on the prosecution’s claims.
In closely related developments, previous testimonies from Lepani Biudole revealed his role in assisting the handling of similarly laden bags, identifying them as methamphetamine.
