Weather Update
Greetings, fellow weather-watchers! Hold onto your umbrellas because it’s a soggy situation out there! A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is still going strong for the Northern Division and the Lau Group. If you’re planning on dodging puddles, you might want to rethink your plans!
The mischief-making trough of low pressure has set up camp over the northern and eastern parts of the archipelago, and it doesn’t seem to want to budge anytime soon. Make sure your rain gear is at the ready because we’re anticipating some serious waterworks as it showerbombs the area with occasional downpours and a few rumbles to keep you on your toes.
Tonight and into tomorrow, expect heavy rain in the Northern Division and Lau Group. The good news? The rain will start to mellow out after that, so hang in there! The rest of you in Serua-Namosi, Sigatoka, Nadi-Lautoka-Ba, and surrounding areas can expect some cloudy periods sprinkled liberally with showers. Yes, the universe has a great sense of humor, as the forecast calls for isolated heavy falls, which may lead to flash flooding if you’re in low-lying areas. So, if you see a duck floating by, you might be in trouble!
Moderate to fresh winds will be blowing around like they’re auditioning for a stormy TV drama, and the seas? Well, let’s just say they’re feeling a bit moody right now, so avoid those precarious beach outings.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, the weather will remain cloudy with some brief showers over several regions. Just in case you thought you’d get a break, we’re still serving up the possibility of isolated heavy showers—because who doesn’t love a little excitement?
In the Navua/Suva/Nausori area, expect partly cloudy skies punctuated by the intermittent shower. Those afternoon or evening hydration sessions (a.k.a. rain showers) could deliver a heavy surprise. Meanwhile, Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba are sticking to a cloudy theme too—showers included!
To our friends over in Labasa and Savusavu, prepare for more rain and the occasional thunderclap. Remember, the rain will gradually ease, so don’t lose hope just yet.
As for Rotuma, it looks like the island will be graced with some fine weather, but showers will creep back in tomorrow.
So, whether you’re planning to weather the storm or dance in the rain, keep your spirits high and your raincoats on! Stay safe out there!
