In her place, Dr. Lesikimacuata Korovavala will move from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Office of the Prime Minister, taking on additional duties as Acting Permanent Secretary for Immigration, directly reporting to the Minister of Immigration. Furthermore, Mr. Manasa Lesuma, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Housing, has expanded his responsibilities to also include the role of Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Policing as of January 14, 2025.
This reshuffle reflects a broader strategy aimed at strengthening leadership in essential sectors, addressing workload distribution among government officials, and fostering accountability within public service. The PSC emphasizes the importance of utilizing skilled professionals in leadership roles to enhance service delivery and ensure that the administration is responsive to the needs of the community.
Overall, these adjustments signify a hopeful outlook for improved governance, as they aim to create a more efficient and effective public service framework in Fiji.
